I know this a couple days late but its still worth press on my blog! Nominations for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday and the movie Precious got 6 nominations!!!
Precious is nominated for Best Movie
Lee Daniels is nominated for Best Director (2ND BLACK DIRECTOR EVER TO BE NOMINATED)
Gabourey Sidibe is nominated for Best Actress (1st Black Woman to be nominated after Halle Berry)
Mo’Nique is nominated for Best Supporting Actress
Precious is also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing

Last night was the return of The Soul Train Awards. Centric TV, formerly known as BETJ in association with BET aired the awards simultaneously. A lot people thought the show was boring or coonerish but I really enjoyed the show. The way I look at is this is not the Oscars, Tony’s, or Grammys. Why are we expecting this to be so perfect.
